Locomotive Repair, Maintenance, DCC, Lighting

I work with steam, diesel and electric engines, including lubrication, mechanical and structural repairs, lighting installation with surface mount LEDs, re-gearing and re-motoring, and modification/kitbashing.  I am most knowledgeable about steam and have done extensive work with brass steam engine models.  Is there a favorite engine I can get running for you?

All my engines (over 25 the last time I counted and mostly steam) are DCC, most with decoders and surface mount LED lighting that I have installed.  Can I help you get your engine up to DCC operations, lights and sound?

I primarily work in HO scale but will gladly discuss projects in other scales.  I do not consider myself a custom painter.  I am not qualified to work on Lionel, MTH or European models.

Rolling Stock, Structures and Signals

I have assembled and painted all types of freight and passenger car kits, as well as scratch-building a number of cars.  Let me help you get that car kit off your shelf and built up, ready for your layout.

My layout features many structures and buildings made from kits, including injection-molded kits, wood kits and resin kits.  Most of these are kit-bashed.  There are also numerous scratch-built structures, using a wide range of materials.  See the Gallery for examples of my work.  I have extensive experience lighting structures small and surface mount LEDs. I have also built numerous signals, many with 3-color surface mount LEDs.  Is there a favorite kit I can build for you or a special building, structure or signal that you have always wanted scratch-built or lit?
